How to play
From clue to pin in three steps
WorldClue is easy to pick up. Every round follows the same rhythm — read, aim, score — and the whole planet is your board.

1. Read the clue
Each round reveals a clue: a famous landmark, a local dish, an animal, a street scene or a natural wonder. Use what you know — architecture, climate, language, plants — to reason about which part of the world it comes from.
2. Drop your pin
Spin and zoom the interactive 3D globe, then drop your pin where you think the clue belongs. You can fine-tune your placement right up until the timer ends.
3. Score by distance
Your points depend on how close your pin is to the true location:
- Bullseye — a pin right on target earns the maximum points for the round.
- Close — same country or region still scores well.
- Far — the wrong continent earns only a little.
- Speed can matter — in timed modes, a confident, quick guess keeps you ahead.
Game modes
- Solo Play — a relaxed way to practise and improve your world knowledge.
- Multiplayer — go head-to-head with friends and other players in live rounds.
- Ranked Mode — competitive matches where results move your rank and RP.
Tips for a higher score
- Look for language on signs and text in the clue — it narrows the region fast.
- Climate and vegetation hint at latitude; deserts, tundra and rainforest all tell a story.
- Architecture and vehicles reveal culture and continent.
- When unsure, aim for the centre of your best-guess region to minimise distance.
